VACANT FISHING SHELTERS

What started as a calm winter day last Thursday, quickly turned into a ground blizzard on Lake Minnewaska. Winds gusting to more than 45 mph converged on the area and concealed many of the ice-fishing shelters that are scattered on the lake. Visibility on the Glenwood side was nearly zero at times as the west wind picked up what little snow there was on the lake. Things calmed down by Thursday evening allowing ice anglers back on the lake. Then, on Saturday, a few inches of snow accumulated in Pope County and across much of Central Minnesota.
