Minnewaska Elementary 2nd graders have been busy learning how to add up coins to make $1! To bring their learning to life, the library was transformed into a grocery store, where students shopped for items while sticking to a budget and practicing their coin-counting skills.

With food prices set at 5, 10, or 25 cents, students worked in pairs to total their purchases before checking out at a real cash register.

A huge thank you to Ms. Schlosser’s parents, Trever and Christa, for volunteering their time and g to make this hands-on experience possible!
