Last Wednesday, the Starbuck Fire Department participated in Core Fire Training led by Customized Fire Training out of Minneapolis. The session focused on responding to car fires, including the growing challenges presented by electric vehicles.

The hands-on portion of the training allowed volunteer firefighters to practice best-practice techniques for extinguishing gas-powered car fires, including proper positioning and using optimum angles for effective control.

The Starbuck Fire Department offers monthly training opportunities for its volunteer crew. The Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education reimburses these trainings.
