The Minnewaska Area High School Speech Team had nine students speak at 5A sections last Friday in Albany. Elsey Hagen (being held by Kaitlyn Pederson) placed second in humorous and is heading to the state tournament on April 22 and 23 in Apple Valley. She had two teammates that made it to the finals, Ethan Eliason (left) placed seventh in humorous and Kaitlyn Pederson placed fifth in that category.
