Wintery weather returned to the area last week stalling the ice-out process.  High winds from some open areas caused large, thick ice chunks to pile up on the Glenwood side of Lake Minnewaska.  Here, the ice pushed well up onto shore along North Lakeshore Drive in Glenwood.  Last year at this time, the lake was ice free.  A warm up later this week will help.  It is hoped that the high winds diminish, because wind-pushed ice can do substantial damage to shorelines.
