Wednesday was a tough day for golf. The boys’ and girls’ golf teams were set to play at Benson and Minnewaska Golf Club, with the boys playing in Benson first while the girls began at MGC.

Despite dodging rain throughout their rounds, both teams took conference wins.

The boys’ team, led by their freshmen, took a 12-shot win over runner-up Benson, paced by a 38 from Zach Gugisberg and a 39 from Logan Kostelecky. 

The boys’ play at MGC was canceled due to lightening. 

The Bluejackets girls’ team played at MGC on Wednesday, with their second round at Benson getting canceled.  Minnewaska/BBE took first behind a season-best round of 41 by Ava Kollman.

Both teams played invitationals on Friday. The boys were on their familiar home course in a five-team field that included three AAA teams

Zach Gugisberg and Riley Larson paced the Lakers, shooting 164 and 166 respectively. 

The Bluejackets were in Staples for a 10-team invitational, where they had a second place finish, 18 shots behind Pequot Lakes.

Arivia DeBoer shot an 83, tops on the Minnewaska/BBE team. All six Bluejackets scored 94 or better in a good overall team effort.
