Minnewaska Area Elementary School graduated 81 Kindergarteners last week as the class of 2034. Mrs. Wendt’s class, Mrs. Larson’s class, Mrs. Reichmann’s class and Mrs. Johnsrud’s class all performed musical selections for an audience filled with families, friends and community members.
Each of the four teachers introduced their students and let them say what they wanted to be when they grow up. The list included the usual firefighter, policeman, teacher, doctor and veterinarian. Some of the listings have changed over time though. Madilyn L. wants to be a scuba diver, Drew C. wants to be a snow skier, Wyatt B. wants to be a dirt bike racer, Gracelyn L. wants to be a pizza rancher and Tucker L. mentioned paleontology. A newer trend in the career field is a YouTuber.
Mrs. Listerud directed the group’s songs and accompanied them, teaching them educational music with a modern twist. They did Macarena Math, The Color Song, Let it Go, Thank You and Go Be Awesome.
