The Villard Fire Department was the primary responder to a ruptured gas line at the construction site near Koep’s Bobbers and Bait along Highway 29 North.  The area is under construction for a project that will take Highway 29 over the Canadian Pacific Railway and Highway 55.  The gas line was inadvertently  ruptured during construction work on Thursday morning.  The line was quickly shut off and repaired, but businesses in the area, including Marthaler Chevrolet and Koep’s had to be evacuated for a few minutes that morning.
