Happenings at Central Square
This Saturday, Aug. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. is Central Square’s final outdoor Makers Market featuring Music on the Lawn. You do not want to miss this last event in their singer/songwriter showcase of 2022. If you have attended the first two shows, you know how talented and engaging the visiting musicians are – you do not want to miss the opportunity to hear these amazing singer/songwriters as they combine music and storytelling.
Also on Saturday, be sure to stop by the Central Square Art Gallery to view the exciting exhibit featuring the work of Jules Bowman. The exhibit ends on Saturday, Aug. 27.
Because storms kept many people away from her opening reception on July 23, and Central Square received so many requests to bring her back, Jules agreed to return for an exhibit closing reception. She will also lead another yoga class from 10-11 a.m. before her closing reception!
Art in the Square Gallery
The next gallery exhibit will feature the intricate drawings of Dennis Anderson. He captures the nuances of shadow and light and translates them into powerfully detailed renderings of landscapes and portraits.
There will be an open house reception for Anderson on Sept. 17, from 5:30-7 p.m. This reception is sponsored by Rolling Forks Vineyards.
Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays by appointment. If you are interested in purchasing Jules’ work, visit the Central Square office or call 320-634-0400.
Coming Soon
Back by special request, Southern Raised returns to the Lee Paulson Stage at Central Square on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. Southern Raised is a group of award-winning kinfolk, trained in classical music but raised in the bluegrass soaked Ozark Mountains. They have created a Southern Raised trademark sound where classical meets bluegrass and city streets meets country roads. Central Square looks forward to presenting this award winning, genre breaking band. They have 32 SPBGMA Midwest nominations, multiple number one songs and have garnered over 12 million views on their YouTube channel.
