18th Annual GRHS Auxiliary Harvest Ball fundraiser promises Roaring Fun
The Glacial Ridge Health Services Auxiliary Harvest Ball set for Friday, Oct. 7 and promises to be a jazzy good time. This year’s live auction items are definitely worth getting excited about. Some of the items on tap are a Brewmaster for a Day experience from the Minnewaska House and Brewing Co., a set of four tires from Brownie’s Tire, a deer stand from Fleet Supply, a ribeye loin from Minnewaska Meats, a 14-foot Maui mat from Bobber’s Marine and a one-night stay at Thumper Pond including waterpark passes and two rounds of golf donated by Tom’s Market.
Tickets for the event have sold out, but there are still plenty of opportunities for giving. People and businesses can still donate directly to the auxiliary and the silent auction. “It’s a win/win to gain exposure and help the community at the same time,” said Joanna Curry. Donations can be made online at the GRHS Foundation’s website https://glacialridge.org/foundation/. Put Harvest Ball or Auxiliary in the comment section and the funds will be applied to this year’s fundraiser for the bone density scanner.
The Harvest Ball doors will open at 5 p.m. for a social time when attendees will be able to view the live and silent auction items as well as sign up for raffles and bid on the “Walls of Wine.” Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. consisting of roast pork loin with supreme sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, glazed baby carrots, salad and rolls, dessert and coffee.
Following dinner there will be a live auction conducted by Zielsdorf Auctioneers. In the past, many people have had fun bidding against their friends to see which tables can raise the most funds for the year’s project.
After the live auction, the silent auction will continue for a short time and then the dancing will begin with The Sideliners Band.
The Auxiliary of the Glacial Ridge Health System has been supporting the hospital’s efforts since 1939 when the group was organized by Ann Bickle. She created the group with community service in mind and it became the first Hospital Auxiliary in the State of Minnesota.
