The Salvation Army 2022 Campaign is ‘Love Beyond’
By Donna Ortendahl

With a recent resurgence of the pandemic, The Salvation Army is digging in for another challenging season of need.
With many facing hardship, the need to serve those most vulnerable is great. Meeting these needs is made possible by the community support and kindness at the Red Kettle. When they pass a kettle, community members often reach deep into their pockets to give kindly.
We recognize this Christmas, our ability to raise vital funds is at risk due to the resurgence of COVID-19. We have made sure that our ringers are safe and that they have all the information possible to keep everyone safe while at our kettles. Other factors will impact our results including the coin shortage, online shopping, and an anticipated decrease in volunteer support. Although these challenges are significant, we’re committed to providing hope to those who need it this Christmas and through the next cold winter months – whether it’s nutritious food for a hungry family or providing relief to those unable to pay rent this month. Will you join forces to restore hope in the hearts of many?
For the 2022 Red Kettle season, The Salvation Army has chosen the theme of “Love Beyond.” We believe we all need to have HOPE and we will be doing our part to help those most vulnerable at this time. If you can, please call Becky Schlangen at 320-219-8270 and pick your day, time, and location that you might like to help us ring at the kettles. We will be at both Tom’s Market locations in Glenwood and Starbuck. We are ringing through December 24th at both locations from 11-7 p.m. every day except Sunday. Hours on December 24th are 10 – 2 p.m. If you can’t ring for us, please consider giving a donation to the kettle. With your help, all things are possible. With the support of a generous public, we can keep families in their homes and ensure everyone is safe in housing, not hungry or alone during what has been a difficult year. Thank you for your partnership with The Salvation Army, helping us to achieve our mission of “Love Beyond.”
Donation checks need to be sent in by the end of December and can be sent to:
