Icebox moonshine up for trial

From the Pope County Tribune, Thursday, Jan. 25, 1923.

Our law enforcement body in Pope County, who have found law enforcement and bagging “moonshiners” too tame a sport in Glenwood to make it interesting, went over to Starbuck this week and after a little skirmish are reported to have found a jug of moonshine in an ice box. The case is up for trial today. We believe that moonshiners should be bagged wherever they are found, but what doesn’t seem fair to us is that some should be allowed to conduct a flourishing business while others are not.

From the Glenwood Herald, Thursday, Jan. 25, 1923.

An announcement was made yesterday that G. C. Wollan has been appointed by President Harding to succeed Mr. J. R. Serrin as postmaster in Glenwood. This announcement was very gratifying to the many in Glenwood who had urged Mr. Wollan’s candidacy. At present he is the cashier in the Fremad store.
