The Lakes Area alpine skiing team has had three races so far this season and has at least five more meets coming up in January and February.  The Lakes Area team, coached by Matt Brunchow, includes students from Alexandria, Brandon-Evansville, Chokio-Alberta, Morris Area-CA, West Central Area and Minnewaska Area. Becca Femrite is competing on the team from MAHS.

The varsity team, which has competed at Mount Ski Gull in Brainerd, Powder Ridge in Kimball and Detroit Mountain in Detroit Lakes, was also set to race at Giants Ridge in Biwabik (Saturday, Jan. 14); at Powder Ridge (Thursday, Jan. 19); at Ski Gull in Brainerd again (Monday, Jan. 30); at Andes for the Lakes Area Invitational (Thursday, Feb. 2) and at Wild Mountain for sections (Tuesday, Feb. 7).
