Last issue of Westport World under H.C. Petersen

H.P. Limperich & Son are having the basement room of the First National Bank fixed up and will move their electric store to that place soon.

The lake broke open on April 16th last year. We wonder if it will do that this year.

The Cozy Theater [Villard] which was closed during Lent was opened again Saturday evening. “The Yellow Bullet,” a five reel western drama, and “When Spirits Move,” a two reel comedy featuring Hank Mann, were thrown on the screen. A good crowd was present. Next Saturday “Whispering Women” and a two reel comedy will be shown.

At the meeting of the men at the town hall last Friday evening when the Ladies Aid served, the matter of planting trees on arbor day was brought up for discussion. John Overson was appointed to have charge of planting trees at the municipal park, Ole N. Stromseth at the new lakeshore park, Ole Torgerson (appointed by the Legion) along the public highways, Superintendent Jorstad and C.C. Heegard on the school grounds. The matter of closing all places of business for a half or full day will be taken up at the meeting this evening.

This week’s issue of the World will be the last under the present ownership. H. C. Petersen have sold the local plant to Heil E. West of Villard, who will issue the World to all subscribers. The retiring management wishes to thank all for their support and cooperation in the past and hopes the change will be for the best.
