It was the morning of Jello Fest, a bright sunny day,

When what to our wondering eyes should appear,

But 12  hearty WIN students and staff volunteers,

to tidy up our ground as a gesture of kindness

In the Fron Church basement da ladies did talk:

“Did you see dose wonnerful kids out dere raking and cleaning up da grounds”

“Who WERE dose hard workin’ kids?”

“Isn’t dat just wonnerful; restores my faith in dis young generation”

“Did someone FEED them?”

“Elsie drove by n’ saw all dose kids workin’ hard in our yard, she said so….”

“Ya dey sure had a BIG job to do wit all dat doggie doodoo on the East side, poor kids, hope dey had gloves on”

“OH doze are da kits from da W.I.N Academy school dat half helped us  each year on dis special day of jello.”

“We aughta bake dem some brownies…oh ya did, gute.”

“Let’s write a note of tanks and tell em’ dere good samaritans fur sure.”

“Can we ring da bell exxxxtra times dis Sunday to tank dem too?.”

“Ya Sure You Betcha”

Not wishing any fame or fortune, their rakes posed for a picture. (Not pictured are 2 steel rakes, 3 leaf rakes and two push brooms.)
