Two injured in airplane crash at Starbuck Airport on June 2

Pope County Dispatch received a 911 call at about 2:53 p.m. on June 2 reporting that an airplane rolled over while landing at the Starbuck Airport .
Officers from the Pope County Sheriff’s Office, Starbuck Police Department, Glenwood Police Department, along with the Starbuck Fire Department, Starbuck Ambulance and Glacial Ridge Ambulance, were dispatched to the scene.
An aircraft with two occupants were conducting routine take offs and landings, according to the Pope County Sheriff’s Office. On the third approach the aircraft had a malfunction occur during the touch down which caused the aircraft to flip forward on its roof, it was stated.
Both occupants were transported to the Glacial Ridge Health Systems ER for medical treatment.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), according to the Sheriff’s Office. The occupants of the airplane were not yet identified.
