REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

The Minnewaska Area Schools Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, July 17, 2023 in the Minnewaska Area Schools District Office Board Room. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Vice Chairperson T. Reichmann. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Present: T. Reichmann, Lagred, A. Reichmann, Holtberg, Ogdahl

Members Absent: Barsness, Zavadil

Motion by Ogdahl seconded by, Lagred to approve the agenda as presented.

Visitor’s Comments: None

Special Recognitions & Honors: 

• The MAS school board would like to thank the building-level Administrative Assistants for their hard work during June. Their dedication to closing out the 2022-23 school year and the efforts put forth in the starting preparations for the 2023-24 school year. A big thank you to Jamie Dietzmann, Kelly Bleick, Terri Richards, Nancy Rapp, Kristen Quelle, Kylie Murken, and Audrey Frey.

• The MAS school board would like to thank the District’s school counselors for their hard work this spring and summer in preparing the 2022-23 school year schedule and for the extra hours that they put in behind the scenes. A big thank you to Hannah Meagher, Jennifer Ring, and Jon Weaver.

Superintendent Rankin reviewed the Summary of Bills, Investment Report, Revenue and Expenditure Reports along with the FY22 Summary of Fund 1 Accounts and Student Activity Accounts.

Motion by Ogdahl, seconded by Lagred, to approve the Claims & Accounts totaling $2,265,146.47

Motion by Lagred, seconded by Ogdahl, to approve Resolution No. 07172023 accepting the donations to the school district.

Reichmann, seconded by Ogdahl, to approve the consent calendar as follows: New Hires: Nicole Busby, Preschool Assistant, Grade 5, Step 1, effective 08/28/2023 • Kasey Douvier, Elementary Intervention Teacher, BS Step 3, effective 08/21/2023 • Brian Gruber, Elementary Intervention Teacher, MA Step 8, effective 08/21/2023 • Nick Gugisberg, Industrial Technology Teacher, BS Step 8, effective 08/21/2023 • Tiffany Kobbermann, Agriculture Teacher, BS Step 11, effective 08/21/2023. Motion by A. Reichmann, seconded by Ogdahl, to approve Resolution 2023-1 for engaging Clyde Machines to purchase certain products.

Motion by Lagred, seconded by Ogdahl to table Resolution 2023-2 for engagement purchasing products from American Solutions for Business until the August regular school board meeting.
