The Minnewaska Area dance teams are off to a great start after competing at home during the Minnewaska Invitational and also at the Rocori Invitational, Saturday, Dec. 2.

The Lakers earned a second in High-Kick and third in Jazz at the home invitational and then placed fifth in both events at the Rocori Invitational.

With 14 teams competing at Rocori, LQP/Dawson-Boyd earned first in the Varsity Jazz competition, followed by NLS, Crosby-Ironton, Holdingford and Minnewaska Area.  In the High-Kick event, LQP-DB won again, followed by Holdingford, NLS, Crosby-Ironton and the Lakers.

In the JV Jazz competition, Minnewaska Area placed first, while Holdingford was second and Crosby-Ironton third.

Minnewaska did not have any other dance meets last week, but does have a busy week this week with the BBE Invitational, Thursday and the Melrose Area Invitational, Saturday.

The Lakers will be competing in Section 2A this year, which also includes Holdingford and NLS.
