The Minnewaska Area boys golf team golfed in two more WCC meets at Sauk Centre and Melrose Area last Monday.

The Lakers placed fourth at Melrose with a 178 total before taking a short break and golfing again at Sauk Centre where Minnewaska Area had a 163 to finish second, just six strokes behind West Central Area, which leads the WCC after winning three of the first four meets.

The Lakers were also set to golf in a doubleheader at BOLD and Montevideo last Monday, but that event was postponed. The meet at BOLD will be made up Monday, May 6 and the meet at Monte, May 13.

Minnewaska Area did compete at the Fairmont Invitational, Saturday, but results of that competition will be highlighted next week.

The Lakers are set to host a WCC meet, Wednesday, May 8, during a doubleheader which also features the Benson Golf Course.  Minnewaska Area will need to place among the top two in both meets if it wants to have a chance at one of the top two spots in the WCC.

The Lakers are also scheduled to host the Laker Invitational, Friday and Saturday at the Minnewaska Golf Course.
