The Minnewaska Area girls track team competed at the State True-Team Track Meet, Saturday at Stillwater.  The Lakers were one of 12 teams competing in the state meet and Minnewaska Area earned one title by Jayda Kolstoe in the shot put on the way to placing seventh overall.

Luverne earned the team title by 1.5 points over GMLOKS (Grand Meadow).  In the final event, the 1600 meter relay, Luverne placed second and GMLOKS was two seconds behind in third for what eventually gave Luverne the team title.

In the boys Class A True-Team state meet, St. Charles earned the title with 543.5 points while Montevideo was second (509), Holdingford third (504.5) and HLWW fourth (499 points).

State True-Team Meet

The Lakers competed at the State True-Team meet, Saturday, placing seventh among 12 teams.

Luverne earned the title, while GMLOKS was second, West Marshall third and Cotter/Hope Lutheran fourth.

Jayda Kolstoe earned one individual title for the Lakers, winning the shot put with a school record throw of 39-3/4.  That broke her old mark of 39-0 set earlier this season.

Kolstoe also placed third in the discus (107-5), giving the Lakers a load of points.

Lauryn Ankeny earned a second in the 300 hurdles (47.15) and was also seventh in the 100 hurdles, while Dacia Fleury was fifth in the triple jump (33-8 1/2), seventh in the long jump (15-10), ninth in the 200 (27.92) and 12th in the 100 (13.41). 

Ella Larson added a fifth in the 800 meter run (2:30.26), while Jillian Deutsch was sixth (13:04.76) and Sydney Ankeny eighth (13:13.55) in the 3200 meter run.

In addition, Lyla Stadtherr was fourth (4-10) and Phemie Oeltjen ninth (4-8) in the high jump and Lexi Bosek added a fifth in the pole vault (8-0).

The Lakers also placed second with the 3200 meter relay, fourth in the 1600 meter relay, 11th in the 400 relay and 12th in the 800 meter relay.
