Junior Legion goes 2-3 at Minnetonka Tourney

The Starbuck Jr. Legion competed at the Melde Meltdown Tourney at Minnetonka last Friday through Sunday, going 2-3 overall.
Starbuck, which had opened up the season with a doubleheader sweep of Kerkhoven, is 4-3 through the early part of the schedule.
During the Minnetonka Tourney, Starbuck beat Apple Valley (19-11) and Elk River (10-6) while also losing to Excelsior Blue (5-0), Creighton (11-2) and Maple Grove (9-1).
Starbuck also had a game scheduled last Tuesday at home against Spicer, but that game was postponed to a date yet to be determined. And, the team was set to compete at the Paynesville Tourney this past weekend. Results will be highlighted next week.
Starbuck, which was 10-7 overall last year, including a 9-3 mark in league play, was set to host Upsala, Tuesday, June 25 before playing at Benson, Friday, June 28.
Through seven games, Connor Erickson is batting .500 to lead Starbuck. Other top hitters with at least 10 at-bats are Luke Danielson (.462), Marc Gruber (.391), Riley Dell (.316), Oliver VanderHagen (.286) and Miles Wildman (.273).
