The annual Dragon Boat Festival took place on the Starbuck shore of Lake Minnewaska on Saturday with teams competing for the first place trophy. The Pirates of Lake Minnewaska (Northwestern Mutual-Ben Dahl) was the winning team.  The weather was perfect for the annual Dragon Boat races and other activities at the Starbuck Park. Each boat has a captain for steering and a drummer to set the pace for the team’s paddlers. The festival opened with a free-will picnic in the park starting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. All the proceeds from the picnic went to the Starbuck Meat Locker, it was stated by race organizers. Saturday marked the real fun for all ages, including the races, food from great food trucks, cash and carry vendors, kids inflatables, tie-dye shirts, silent auction items, and a selfie-photo spot.
