Our most exciting event of the fall is the return of the Pope County TRIAD Senior Expo Education and Awareness Event. This will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Lakeside Ballroom in Glenwood. It is sure to be a fun-filled day packed full of information for every older adult, and those who are caregiving for older adults as well. This event is brought to you by the Pope County TRIAD which is a group of senior citizens, law enforcement and community partners with the same common goal of keeping seniors safe. Doors open at 8 a.m. with registration and the opportunity to visit with the numerous vendors. At 9 a.m. the education will begin with variety of speakers addressing different topics ranging from Trends in Fraud and Identity Theft to Dementia 101. Ending the event at 2:15 p.m. is a drawing door prizes.
A new addition to this year’s event is the chance to win $100 cash, but only if you are pre-registered by Sept. 18. To do this, call 218-685-8207. There will be coffee and cookies served all day, a free meal, paid for by the Pope County TRIAD for those age 55+ (suggested $10 donation for those younger than 55), and you will get an extra special treat for dessert donated by Shirley’s Treats & Eats.
