The Pope County Museum is hosting a presentation on Native American ceramics found in Pope County on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.
Minnesota State University Moorhead Emeritus Professor, George R. Holley, Ph.D. will present: “How an Archaeologist Makes Sense of the Past: An Example Using Pope County”
In spite of the limited evidence available from the past, archaeologists are able to marshal these bits of information to construct a scaffold with links to the environment, developments in neighboring societies, and the ever-changing stylistic vogues. George Holley will illustrate what goes on in the process of making sense of the past by using precontact native ceramics found in Pope County.
The presentation will be held at the Pope County Museum, 809 South Lakeshore Drive, Glenwood.
