Lowry Days-Ribfest

The community of Lowry held its annual Lowry Days-Rib Fest celebration, Saturday with hundreds of area residents taking part in the full-day of activities.

The afternoon started off with bingo from 2-4 p.m. and a Car Show from 2-5 p.m. along Main Street in Lowry.

At 4 p.m., the Ribfest tasting started and there was no shortage of people on hand to sample the great food.  There were a total of 14 teams cooking ribs during the Rib Fest.  The winner of the Rib Fest competition earned $800 and the “Peoples’ Choice” Award was worth $400.

Also taking place during the afternoon were a kids’ pedal pull, kids’ games, a bean bag tournament, craft show and bingo.  And, live entertainment was also provided by Neon Gypsy from 4-7 p.m. and the Honey Badgers from 8 p.m.-midnight.

All in all, it was a great day to be in Lowry!
