Watch for these collection bins around the area for this year’s GFWC Fall Food Drive.

GFWC Potpourri Club of Glenwood is organizing a Fall Food Drive. Please drop  non-perishable, non-expired, food and personal items in collection bins at the following businesses: Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber office, Eagle Bank, Magnifi Credit Union, Thrivent Financial, Glacial Ridge Wellness Center, Public Library, Glenwood State Bank, Lake Area Family Chiropractic and the Dollar Tree.  There will also be a food collection bin at this Saturday’s Eple Tiden at the Starbuck Depot. Area churches and businesses can participate by collecting 50 boxes of cereal and/or peanut butter by October 6.

All food and personal items collected will be divided and distributed to Hearts and Hands food pantry, Pope County Families in Need and Lighthouse at Minnewaska Area High School.

Most needed items are canned chicken/tuna, soup, crackers, instant potatoes, juice, spaghetti sauce, cereal, peanut butter, easy to make or microwavable items, cake mixes, granola bars, fruit snacks/cups, canned veggies, pasta and Kleenex.

This food drive is part of the National Day of Service that GFWC clubs all over the U.S.A. are doing to bring awareness to food insecurity and hunger that exists in our communities.
