The Minnewaska Area-Morris Area Gators are down to their final week of the regular-season after hosting two meets last week against Holdingford last Tuesday at Minnewaska Area High School (112-72 win) and Perham-NYM, Thursday at UM-Morris (101-81 victory).
The Gators improved to 6-1 overall in dual meets and 3-1 in the conference with the two wins.
Included in last week’s action were two MAHS records by Ella Roering in diving (213.4 points, Tuesday and 219.35 points, Thursday), eclipsing the 204.45 points set by Jaida Hess in 2020; and an overall Gator diving record by Clare Barnstuble, Tuesday at MAHS (224.7 points).
“The Gators had a fantastic week with two wins,” coach Sam Oellien said. “It’s always tough to have two meets in one week, but the Gators were able to use their time in practice and fine tune a few things and our team saw a fair amount of improvement from Tuesday to Thursday.”
This week, the Gators are set to close out the regular-season with a meet at Sauk Centre, Tuesday (tomorrow) followed by the Section True-Team meet at UM-Morris, Friday with diving taking place in the morning and swimming in the afternoon.
