A combine caught fire last Wednesday afternoon just off of County Road 24 near Cyrus and with high winds and dry conditions, the fire spread across the field and into a nearby Wildlife Management Area.  Four area fire departments were called to the scene and although the combine was likely a total loss, the fire departments, including from Cyrus and Lowry, were able to control the fire before it was spread far in the WMA. No more information was available at press time.
