October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and local students and residents participated in  a Domestic Violence Awareness Walk on Minnesota Ave. through downtown Glenwood last Wednesday morning. Walkers displayed signs as they marched from the Western Prairie Human Services building to the Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber and Welcome Center.  Minnesota’s Clothesline Project was displayed at the Welcome Center and participants heard a message about Domestic Violence and what can be done about it in the community. The event was organized by Someplace Safe, a nonprofit, 501c3, agency, incorporated in 1979, offering a variety of services to victims and survivors of crime, families, and communities in a nine-county region in West Central Minnesota.
