It’s holiday season and area elementary students were busy last Tuesday night entertaining their parents, family and other interested area residents at the annual Minnewaska Elementary Winter Concert for kindergarten students at 6 p.m. and 1st graders at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3 in the high school auditorium.  Both concerts were directed by Mrs. Listerud.

The kindgarten students (pictured at left and below with their hand-made holiday hats) performed 10 holiday selections, including “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” to end the concert.  The 1st graders (pictured above and in several pictures below) performed later and their concert included at least seven holiday songs, including a “Christmas Sing-Along Medley” to end the performance.  The holiday concerts by the local kindergarten and first grade students kicked off a month-long celebration of music by the Minnewaska Area High School Music Department.  The 4th-6th graders were set to perform later in the week while the 2nd-3rd graders have a concert planned for Tuesday, Dec. 10 and the 7th-12th grade Holiday Choir Concert is set for this weekend with three separate performances.  Merry Christmas everyone!
