MAHS Christmas Concert: A performance that will always be worthy of a full house

From Cody Bosek,

Glenwood

I recently attended the MAHS Christmas concert, and was surprised to see so many empty seats compared to the past years. I am sure many are curious as to the experience following the retirement of Mr. Moeller, and what the performance may look like going forward under the direction of Mr. Iverson.

What I will say is the perforAmance was a masterful mix of the past and the future of what’s to come. For many this concert is unique and special as it sticks true to the roots of this holiday season. Which sadly many programs have shied away from in modern times.

Mr. Iverson did a wonderful job incorporating many classic favorites from the previous years concerts under the direction of Mr. Moeller, and at the same time incorporated plenty of flare of his own. Some of this flare included a new Christmas tale narrated that celebrates this season, and takes everyone in attendance on a walk down memory lane.

I also noted a lot more solo singing pieces that were beautifully accompanied at the perfect moments by the large body choir which sent a wonderful chill down my spine on multiple occasions.

I’m sure Mr. Iverson was feeling nervous in filling the winter sized boots that Mr. Moeller left behind in his retirement. This is just one spectator’s opinion, but I am grateful that he decided to continue to build on the foundations of what this Christmas concert was, and enjoyed every moment of it from the time the chimes rang at the beginning to the final chimes at the end. This concert truly embodies this season, and I look forward to attending next year’s celebration!

Wonderful job Mr. Iverson!
