Nature provided some natural “flocking” on leafless trees last week as the area sustained fog in the early morning contributing to hoar frost and adding to the beauty of the winter season.   Hoar frost often forms during inversions when the temperature is lower than in the air layer above it, according to the science.  This photo was taken on South Lakeshore Drive a few days after Christmas.  The warm temperatures through the week also eliminated much of the snow that fell earlier in December.
