Dear Long Beach,
Nestled on the beautiful shores between Lake Minnewaska and Pelican Lake, you are a small town with a big heart. Each sunrise over the spectacular flowers of Morning Glory Gardens mirrors the vibrant spirit of our community, where neighbors greet each other by name and lend a helping hand without hesitation. Your well maintained, plowed, and sanded streets tell stories of resilience, growth, and shared dreams.
I’m proud of how you embrace change while staying true to your roots founded in 1938. Together, we’ve revitalized spaces like the Community Hub, turning them into places of connection and opportunity while replacing a 70-year-old City Hall that served us well. This is where local farmers swap advice with entrepreneurs, children discover the joy of books in our Little Free Library at Morning Glory Gardens, and where our residents collaborate to shape the future, providing input through surveys and panel discussions as valued input to our elected leaders.
Your strength lies in your people. From lifelong residents to newcomers, we all contribute to the tapestry of life here. I love the way you celebrate the arts with local crafts and music. I cherish being able to spread our charitable gaming revenue with dozens of local charities throughout the community and installing AEDs around the city to keep our residents, visitors, and workers safe.
You’ve shown me what it means to lead with integrity and serve with passion. In every regular meeting, planning session, and community event, I see the shared commitment to help Long Beach thrive! Your warmth and unity inspire me daily, and I am endlessly grateful to call you home.
With love and gratitude,
Mike Pfeiffer
Mayor of Long Beach MN
