Kari Nelson appointed Interim President of Glenwood State Bank; Peter Nelson transitions to national role

Glenwood State Bank announced last Thursday that Peter Nelson is stepping down as President and that Kari Nelson has been appointed the new Interim President.
Peter Nelson is resigning from his position to pursue an opportunity with the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), where he will advocate for the interests of community banks on a national level it was stated. His last day as President at Glenwood State Bank will be Friday, February 7, though he will continue to serve on the Board of Directors and act as an advisor.
Peter Nelson has been with the bank for 28 years and served as President for the past 19 years. His leadership has guided the bank through various economic challenges and technology developments, resulting in expanded services and a deeper commitment to community engagement and customer service, it was stated in the announcement.
“I am incredibly grateful for my time as President at Glenwood State Bank. This experience has ignited a passion within me for the critical role community banks play in the success of our nation,” stated Peter Nelson. “Community banks not only drive economic growth but also nurture the vitality of our communities. I look forward to sharing this important message on a national stage with ICBA.”

Peter’s extensive experience and commitment to the banking community will be valuable assets in his new role, it was stated.
