There wasn’t much warming power from the sun as it faded in the southwest over a frozen Lake Minnewaska last week.  Temperatures dipped well below zero even during the daytime hours last Saturday through Tuesday.  Temperatures were recorded at 26 below zero on Monday and Tuesday night.  It was cold enough that most of the fishing shelters on the lake were vacant much of the week and high winds made it dangerously cold.  Temperatures will be on the rise this week with daytime highs in the high 20s and low 30s–that’s above zero.
