Stevens County Dispatch/Jailer Position: The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a full-time dispatch/jailer.  The right candidate will be dependable, can effectively multi-task and has an interest in law enforcement and public safety.  A high school diploma is required. One-year clerical, administrative or dispatching experience or a combination of training and experience is preferred.  Computer experience/knowledge required.  Extensive training is provided. DUTIES: Receiving, prioritizing and managing multiple simultaneous emergency and non-emergency calls utilizing a multi-line telephone system and 800mHz radio.  Ability to operate multiple informational computer based programs while logging accurate radio and telephone communications in order to dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS to a response.  Processing complaints (via telephone and in person) and making appropriate referrals on a broad variety of public safety matters utilizing reference materials and standard operating procedures.  Ability to maintain composure during emergency and stressful situations. EMPLOYMENT VARIABLES: Typical schedule is 40 hours per week with rotating schedule of nights, days, some weekends and holidays.  Union, non-exempt position.  Hourly wage range $20.70 – $27.81.  Employer contribution of $850/month to be used toward group health insurance with option to purchase dental, vision, life insurance, Critical Illness, Hospital, Accident, STD and LTD.  Employer contributes 7.5% into the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA). Stevens County Human Services Mental Health Professional or Mental Health Professional Trainee: Stevens County is partnering with three local school districts to offer mental health professional services within the school setting.  This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to provide preventative services to children, teens, and their families.  The successful candidate will, under the direction of the Mental Health Professional Supervisor, provide mental health services for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders in children, teens, families, and groups.  Ability to grow this position based upon successful applicant’s interests, opportunities to provide outreach to diverse populations and leadership to interagency programs as assigned.
