David “Dave” Wayne Weber, 72, of Menahga, passed away on Feb. 20, 2025.

A memorial service was held on Saturday March 8, 2025, at Salem Historical Church & Cemetery, Paynesville. Services were provided by Karvonen Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Wadena.

Dave was born on Dec. 1, 1952, in Paynesville, to Robert and Vonnie (Cossairt) Weber. He lived a full and meaningful life, marked by his love and dedication to his family, a love for mechanical things and a passion for adventure.

Dave met the love of his life, Sharon Ann Sieben, in the summer of 1971. They were married on Dec. 30, 1972. Dave’s adventurous spirit enabled them to live in several states during their first years of marriage, Minnesota, North Dakota, Idaho and Montana. Dave was a member of the National Guard for six years after high school.

Dave was a devoted father and “go-to” Dad. Whether it was helping his daughter purchase and remodel her first home or assisting his son with furniture assembly, Dave was always there when his family needed him. His willingness to lend a hand and share his knowledge left a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In addition to his professional life, Dave was an avid motorcycle rider. He was a proud member of the Glacial Lake Motorcycle Club, where he formed lifelong friendships. Dave’s adventurous spirit led him to achieve the prestigious Iron Butt Certificate, completing 1,500 miles on his motorcycle, in just 24 hours. His love for the open road was only surpassed by his passion for woodworking, which he pursued in retirement by starting his own woodworking business. Dave’s craftmanship produced beautiful, unique wood products that reflected his creative vision and attention to detail. One of Dave’s “happy places” was on many of the local lakes. He was an avid fisherman; his patience and dedication enabled him to find and catch many wonderful fish suppers. Dave loved to share his bounty, he gifted many friends and family packages of fresh fish.

Dave’s legacy will live on through his wife, children and the many people whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; daughter, Sonya (Todd) Gylsen of Glenwood; son, Shane Weber of Orlando, Fla.; brother, Don (Sharon) Weber of Post Falls, Idaho; along with numerous sister and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Vonnie M. Weber.
