Nancy C. Davis, 84, of Starbuck, formerly of Glenwood, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. A graveside service and inurnment, officiated by Rev. Krista Lee, will take place at 4 p.m. at Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery prior to the memorial gathering. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Nancy Claire Bundy was born in Minneapolis on Dec. 26, 1939, to Norma Bundy. As an only child, she grew up in Minneapolis where she attended Bethesda Lutheran Church and graduated from North High School in 1956. After high school, Nancy worked as a seamstress, a skill she learned from her mother, who was also a seamstress.

On Sept. 27, 1958, Nancy was united in marriage to Gordon “Gordy” J. Davis at Wesley United Methodist Church in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in St. Louis Park, where Gordy worked at Control Data as quality control manager. Their marriage was blessed with four children, James, Lynne, Dawn and Jason. After the children were all of school age, Nancy went to work as a secretary at the law offices of Hook & Lombardi. In 1974, Gordy took a job with Glenwood Manufacturing and the family relocated to Glenwood. After the move, Nancy worked at various businesses including the Pope County Tribune, Ben Franklin and as a floral designer at Glenwood Floral and Minnewaska Floral.

Nancy and Gordy were members of Glenwood Lutheran Church. Many of the church’s banners still used today were sewn by Nancy. She volunteered her time and creative talents with the Ann Bickle Heritage Society and Central Square. Her hobbies included antiquing, flower gardening and creative arts such as drawing, painting and sculpture. She also enjoyed card club, camping with her family, and decorating for her favorite holidays, Halloween and Christmas.

Nancy and Gordy enjoyed 53 years of marriage before he passed away on April 5, 2012. She recently resided in Glenwood Retirement Village, and later Glacial Trails Memory Care in Starbuck. Nancy passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, having lived to the age of 84 years.

Nancy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered as loving, creative, artistic and socially outgoing.

Nancy is survived by her four children, James Davis of Glenwood, Lynne Davis of Starbuck, Dawn Flanders of Glenwood and Jason (Tina) Davis of Princeton; nine grandchildren, Jacob and Luke Robideaux, Jamie (Carrie Hassler) Robideaux, Shannon (Steven) Grothe, Alissa Juvrud, Brent Flanders, Beth Flanders, Josef Davis and Isabelle Davis; and seven great-grandchildren, Riley, Hannah, Elaina, Sophia, Steven, Sadie and Shaye.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Bundy; and her husband, Gordon.
