A Memorial Service for Sheila Kaelin of Zimmerman, formerly of Starbuck, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Starbuck with Don Swenson, S.A.M. Synod Authorized Minister officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Sheila Marie Johnshoy was born in Glenwood on July 18, 1965, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Olson) Johnshoy. She grew up on a dairy farm southwest of Starbuck. She graduated from Starbuck High School, Class of 1984.

Following her schooling, she moved to Roseville and worked at Menasha Packaging for over 10 years. During this time, she met Neil Kaelin and the couple was married on Aug. 20, 1994, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Starbuck. Sheila and Neil made their home in Zimmerman where Sheila worked at various jobs in the surrounding area.

Being a near carbon copy of her mother, Sheila enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, making lefsa and playing pull tabs. She and Neil also enjoyed making wine together from the grape vines on their property. Sheila was a caring person and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She dearly loved her grandchildren and nieces and nephew.

Sheila Kaelin died of natural causes on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at her home having reached the age of 59.

Sheila is survived by her siblings, Roxanne (Ken) Spore of Starbuck, Kyle (Lisa) Johnshoy of Starbuck and Carrie Glass of Lancaster, S.C.; stepdaughter, Lisa (Doug) Drozdowicz of Madison, Wis.; grandchildren, Charlie, Ella and Lillian Drozdowicz; and nieces and nephew, Nick (Connor) Peters, Alex Klimek, Casey (Lee) Barkeim, Callie Johnshoy, Cassidy Johnshoy and Cierra Johnshoy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Kaelin (4/20/2023); and her parents, Robert and Mary Johnshoy.
