Thanks students for help at Morning Glory Gardens

From Terry Duhn,

Long Beach

Hi to all.  Boy was that a winter. Now it looks as though we go right into summer as the forecasted lows are all above 40 degrees. It is good to see green grass and it will be much better when we can see and smell the flowers and see their beauty.

First and foremost, I would like to send a big THANK YOU to the students of MAHS who came over to Morning Glory Gardens to help clean the Chapel, Gazebo, small beds that have to be cleaned by hand and repairing some damage to the perennial bed that was damaged during ice out. Again, thank you to the students, Mr. Song, Mr. Bennes and Mrs. De Boer.

Now is the time to plant flowers and I need a little help. This year I need volunteers on 2 days. On Saturday the 20th we need to plant the big center bed and the smaller beds by the sign and walkways. On Wednesday the 24th after school the Girl Scouts will help plant the lakeside bed that had love written in it. I am so looking forward to seeing what the Scouts come up with to write in the bed. So, if you can help either of those 2 days, it would be very much appreciated. We will start on the 20th at 9 o’clock and we can start on the 24th at 4 o’clock.

As always thank you for all the help and donations to the Garden. Be sure to take in the beauty this summer. I will have the chapel open on Sundays during the summer for your enjoyment if I am around. Hope to see you in the Garden.
