Koep’s thanks customers for nearly 25 years of support
From Nancy Koep,
Koep’s Bobbers and Bait, Glenwood
To the Pope County and surrounding areas:
Twenty-five years ago, my dad had a dream – you build it, they will come. And that’s exactly what all of you did.
On Sunday November 26, I closed the doors to Koep’s Bobbers and Bait. Sunday marked 24 years, 6 months and 26 days that we were in business. I moved to Lowry in 1999, knowing very few of you. Today, many are like family.
It’s been quite the ride, that’s all I can say. I’ve employed 256 people in my time there, some great, some not so great. Many of the kids that I hired I’ve watched grow into amazing people, many who are now married and some with children.
I cannot thank you all enough for your continued support over the years, not only in the store, but also all the other events I conducted–my pheasant tournaments, 3-species, walleye and ice fishing tournaments, and all my youth fishing events.
I am forever grateful to all of you, but the time has come to close one door and open another. I will miss so much about this job, but most of all I will miss all of YOU, my faithful customers for the past 24 years. I look forward to seeing you all around town, the only difference is I won’t be behind a counter.
Thank you all so much from the Koep’s and their entire staff.
Final Farewell from Fright Nights
Halloween night was the last night of Fright Nights. We would like to say a big Thank You to the following: To the community for all the support we received. To our superb actors who gave their all to make Fright Nights one of the top-rated Haunted Houses in Minnesota. Fright Nights would not have been possible without your dedicated support. To our sponsors who supported us over the years as well to all the families who Trick-or-Treated through Fright Nights every Halloween night, especially on those cold nights. To the thousands of guests who drove from all over Minnesota and neighboring states to explore Fright Nights every season, we could never have continued on without your appreciation of all the hard work. And finally, to our families who put up with our long nights and weekends at Fright Nights every season. Thank you!
Signing off for the final time.

Correction:
Last week’s letter to the editor from Nancy Barsness on the Powerline route should have stated that “the new line will cross the large 500 KV DC line somewhere west of Lowry” (not east).
