Rolling Forks Vineyard, of Glenwood, recently earned top honors at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition for three of their locally made wines.

The vineyard’s 2020 LaCrescent and 2020 Marquette both earned Double Gold awards, and their 2021 Frontenac Blanc garnered a Gold distinction. Joe Cihlar, co-owner, and Darrien Wallin serve as resident winemakers for Rolling Forks Vineyards.

“We’re humbled by this incredible recognition of our local wines,” said Melanie Cihlar, co-owner of Rolling Forks Vineyards.

The competition, held annually in San Francisco, Calif., is hosted by the San Francisco Chronicle and brings together winemakers throughout the United States for the largest competition of North American Wines. In 2023, more than 60 judges from various North American wine regions evaluated 5,500 wines from nearly 1,000 wineries.
