The Minnewaska Area High School trap team competed at the State Shoot, Friday at Prior Lake.  The MAHS team had earned the first-place varsity trophy at the State Championships in Alexandria the previous week to earn the berth at the State Shoot.

The Minnewaska Area team placed 12th overall in the team competition and also came close to placing an individual in the top eight.  Dylan VanZee shot 98-of-100 in the individual competition to tie for 13th place overall.  A complete recap of the State Shoot will be highlighted in next week’s paper.  Members of the State Shoot team included Dylan VanZee, Levi Schultz, Kyler Anderson, Jonathan Hagen, Mason Reichmann, August Reichmann and Isaac Hennen.

This was the first time the Lakers brought home the first place varsity trophy from the State Meet.  Minnewaska shot 483-of-500 at state, including a 99 by August Reichmann, 98 from Dylan VanZee and 96 from Mason Reichmann.

The team had a state send-off, Thursday morning, with many community members, parents, family members and fans lining the streets of Glenwood to help support the team on its way to the State Shoot.
