The 137th annual Pope County Fair is set for next week, Aug. 2-5 at the Pope County Fairgrounds in Glenwood.

This year’s fair is jam packed with events both familiar and new.  Back by popular demand on  Friday night is the Family Fun Night sponsored by the Pope County Ag Society.  

Main events on Family Fun Night include a Tractor Show, 4-H Dairy Show, Coin Dig, Clueless Balloon Twister, 4-H Llama/Alpaca Show, Youth Jackpot Beef Show, Corn & Soybean Growers Policy Meet-n-Greet, Laser Tag and music by the band Blonde & the Bohunk. 

 Other evening highlights at the Grand Stand include Skidloader Rodeo on Wednesday night, Ranch Rodeo on Thursday night, Tractor Pull and Demolition Derby on Saturday Night.  

What’s new and different about this year’s Pope County Fair?

There will be live music two nights by Absolute Zero and Blonde & The Bohunk.

The Grand Stand has been newly freshened and the fairgrounds will feature improved parking and more camping spots. An ATM machine was also added to the grounds.  

The Starbuck VFW will  host a beer garden from noon until 10 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and there will be Bingo from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday.
