Four Minnewaska Tae Kwon Do students brought home tournament medals. There were four different events that each athlete had the option of competing in: forms, sparring, weapons and board breaking.

Josiah Arevalo competed in the Fall Brawl Taekwondo Tournament in Princeton on Sept. 9 and placed second in weapons and first in forms. The Pederson family competed in the Fargo Open Martial Arts Championship on Oct. 21.

Alyssa Pederson placed first in board breaking. She also competed in weapons and forms. Jeff Pederson placed first in board breaking, second in weapons and third in sparring. Stacey Pederson placed third in weapons and third in forms.

Minnewaska Tae Kwon Do operates out of the Central Square building and offers taekwondo classes year-round for youth, adults and families.
