Glacial Ridge Health System implemented a new and improved Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system on December 1 called MEDITECH Expanse. The EMR includes a brand-new patient portal with enhanced usability for a more seamless healthcare experience, it was stated in a news release from GRHS.

Benefits of the New EMR:

1. Efficiency and Accuracy: The new EMR is designed to streamline our administrative processes, allowing us to provide more accurate and efficient care. This means less staff time spent on paperwork and in front of the computer and more time focused on your health.

2. Enhanced Communication: The new system will facilitate better communication between healthcare providers wherever you receive your care at Glacial Ridge, improving coordination and continuity of care. Patients’ medical information will be more accessible, ensuring that their entire care team is well-informed.

3. Patient-Centered Care: This technology places a strong emphasis on patient-centered care. It enables healthcare providers to personalize patients’ treatment plans and track their health progress more effectively across care settings, whether in the hospital, physician’s office, therapy services, or homecare.

Introduction of Our New Patient Portal:

GRHS is also excited to introduce the new patient portal, accessible through their website or an app. The patient portal is a secure online platform providing convenient access to your health information. Here are some key features:

1. Appointment Scheduling: Easily schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments at your convenience.

2. Pre-register before your appointment and complete pre-visit forms.

3. Access to Health Records: View your medical records and visit summaries, including test results, diagnoses, and treatment plans, from the comfort of your own home.

4. Secure Messaging: Communicate with your healthcare team in a secure and confidential manner. You can ask questions and receive important updates.

5. Prescription Management: Request prescription refills and access information about your current medications.

6. Assign a Proxy: Patients can assign a family member or caregiver access to all or specific aspects of their medical record to help manage appointments, bills, and conditions.

7. Dependents: Add dependents and access their records from one account.

What Patients Need to do:

For a smooth patient experience during this process:

1. Please bring your driver’s license or state ID and your current insurance card to your visit so receptionists can scan it into your record. They will also ask for updated demographic and emergency contact information. Alternatively, patients can upload these documents and edit their demographics in advance (after December 1) when a new patient portal account is set up.

2. After December 1, watch for more details on creating a new patient portal account at glacialridge.org.

“We are confident these enhancements will provide a more seamless, patient-centric healthcare experience,” stated CEO Kirk Stensrud. “Thank you for entrusting us with your care, and we look forward to continuing to serve you with the highest level of quality and compassion.”

Glacial Ridge staff appreciate your understanding and patience during this exciting transition.
