Glenwood’s Magical Christmas kicked off on Thursday with the Annual Tree Lighting ceremony and the Lighted Parade. The free community supper was held at the Glenwood Lutheran Church Social Hall. Popcorn and hot chocolate were served up at Pocket Park courtesy of American Solutions for Business. The tree and town lighting ceremony featured the Waterama Brass and Royalty along with Mayor Kazda wishing everyone a happy holiday and thanking the community for supporting the activities. Pastor Kelly Mahoney gave the blessing.

The Lighted Holiday Parade featured several floats from area businesses along with Santa Claus waving from the Glenwood Fire Department’s vintage fire truck. There was even an Elvis sighting! These events kick off the Magical Christmas activities for the season.  Future events will feature the living nativity scene and an open house and family night at the Welcome Center and Chamber offices.
