Minnewaska Area Schools began the holiday concert series last week with the Kindergarten, First Grade, Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade and Sixth Grade serenading audiences at the Minnewaska Area High School Auditorium. Fifth and Sixth Grade choirs are directed by Gordy Moeller, Fourth Grade is directed by Sue Morton and Jen Germundson and Kindergarten and First Grade are directed by Jessica Listerud. Each group performed wintertime themed songs, both new and familiar. Students had speaking parts and solos. Selections included Over the River, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town and Jingle Bell Rock. Audiences were encouraged to sing along during several of the selections.
