Two-and-a-half weeks remain in the Red Kettle Campaign. The red kettle campaign is scheduled to run through December 23.

“The pandemic has come and gone for the most part, but now high prices and higher unemployment means that more people are relying on The Salvation Army for help,” said Lt. Colonel Randall Polsley, Salvation Army Northern Division commander. “In turn, we must rely on more volunteers for their help at this most important time of year.”

Bell ringers play a critical role in this fundraising effort as they collect anywhere from $10-$90 an hour in their kettles, all of which will provide relief to struggling Pope County families.

“Bell ringing is a fun event, especially for friends and family members who ring together,” said Sophie Crowell, volunteer relations director.

The Red Kettle funds are used here in Pope County to assist those in a crisis. They will ring every day through Dec. 24 (no ringing on Sundays). This is a great volunteer opportunity. If interested in helping, you can call Becky Schlangen at 320-219-8270 to schedule a time to ring the bells for us! Come with a friend or family member and help those in need this year.
