Glenwood Police Chief Dale Danter (center) was ringing the bell at Tom’s Market Dec. 20 soliciting donations for the red kettle for Pope County Salvation Army.  Danter rang the bell for two  hours and raised $165.  Glacial Ridge Veterinary Clinic did a kettle match and presented him with a $200 check donation.   His total for the two hours of ringing came to $365.  “A huge thank you to Glacial Ridge Veterinary Clinic for their assistance with this kettle match,” said  Donna Ortendahl (right), Central MN Salvation Army Field Representative.  She also thanked all who donated while Danter was at the kettle and thanked Danter for helping the Pope County Salvation Army raise funds for the red kettle this year.  “When we work together, our community thrives with the assistance we can give to all that need a helping hand during a crisis situation.” Ortendahl said. 

Donna Ortendahl, Central MN Salvation Army Field Representative, was stationed at the Red Kettle just before Christmas and rang the bell for two hours raising $500.48.  She also received a $250 kettle match was from Hometown Community Bank in Cyrus.  So, the grand total for Salvation Army today is $750.48. “Thank you to Hometown Community Bank of Cyrus for their kettle match,” she said.    The Salvation Army also thanked Midwest Machinery Co. for their $100 donation at the kettle and Amy Roers, State Farm Insurance Agency Inc. for their $100 donation.  “Thank you to all who gave from their hearts today for those in our community that will face a crisis this coming year.  Your support means so very much to the Pope County Salvation Army,” Ortendahl said.
